Hi, I’m Victoria Diwell – but please call me Vix! As I reimagine my Pilates & Yoga enterprise I’ve chosen to embrace the name my beloved grandfather used when I was young as he was an ardent supporter of all my endeavours.
Passion for Movement, Mind & Body …
With more than two decades in the fitness industry, my absolute passion lies in helping people connect deeply with their bodies.
My journey started in Performing Arts at King Alfred’s College, Winchester. While I was accepted for my love of singing, it was contemporary dance that truly captivated me. That love for movement led me to train as a Studio Exercise to Music instructor at just 21, teaching everything from Salsa Aerobics (pre-Zumba!) to Step and Body Pump. It was an incredible time!
Why Pilates? Precision, Control & The Power of Breath …
In 2005, I discovered Pilates, and it felt like coming home. The grace, control and breathwork perfectly mirrored my dance and singing background. Pilates took over my weekly schedule, and after welcoming my first son in 2014, I retrained my focus as a Mind & Body instructor, leaving my high-energy aerobics days behind.
In 2016, I updated my qualifications in Pilates, including pre & postnatal specialisms, giving me the expertise and confidence to work full-time in the field. This led me to a fantastic physiotherapy-led Pilates studio in Marlborough, where I deepened my practice and honed my teaching skills.
The Power of Yoga & Mindful Movement
My classes have always blended Yoga-inspired stretches and deep relaxation techniques, helping clients experience a profound mind-body connection. The demand for my stretch & relax classes soared during lockdown, inspiring me to gain Level 3 Hatha Yoga certification.
While Pilates remains my main focus, Yoga has added another layer of depth to my practice, helping clients unlock greater flexibility, mobility and inner calm.
Moving Forward
Since then I have dedicated my professional life to expanding my knowledge and bringing fresh insight to my classes. Gaining Level 4 Pilates (Including specialist sports training); Pilates & The Menopause (Helping women feel strong and confident at every stage of life); Pilates Reformer Training (Bringing dynamic, resistance-based movement to my practice).
